In addition to raising two children and maintaining a home while working as a remote therapist, my daughter, Jennifer, has been attending Grand Canyon University (also remotely) to get her Masters' in Science with Emphasis on Mental Health Counseling. And today that paid off!

| My youngest daughter gets her degree! | |||
My youngest daughter, despite being a busy mother of three, decided to go ahead and get her college degree. She worked like crazy on it in between birthday parties, doctor visits and other outings with the children. And her work finally paid off, as we attended her graduation from Arizona State University with a B.A. in Psychology.

Today was the third Recovery Walk event we've attended. Our daughter, Jenny, went through recovery at WINR (Women In New Recovery) and now works there in a managerial position. So, to show our support, we always go. Also, because it's actually fun.

This past Saturday, the substance abuse recovery home at which my daughter, Jenny, is program manager, sponsored a Recovery Walk down Mesa's Center Street, accompanied by food, games, an inflatable bouncing thing and piñatas for the kids. Something that might be viewed as a somber and solemn occasion was instead a lighthearted and joyous one, thanks in part to Jenny's contribution to putting it on.

But as the weekend of September 6th approached, Mary showed no signs of imminent labor. So we began to think maybe it would be nice to invite my sister, Mary Joan, and her husband Joe over for an early Friday dinner, to celebrate the upcoming birth.
